Beer Geeks

Breaking with tradition, I'm posting about a beer bar - not a brew pub.  However, due the special circumstances which include the fact that this place has an amazing selection of beers, and they are located about five minutes away from our house, I couldn't resist posting.

We've been to Beer Geeks on 45th in Highland several times now.  One of their best attributes is that it seems to be a pretty popular place and therefore the beer selection changes fairly rapidly.  So, if you stop in and don't see a lot of beers that you'd enjoy just give it a week or two and try again.

Having said that, they really do have a great selection.  There are twenty tappers and quite a few more in bottles.  One drawback is the fact that they don't serve food.  But, they're more than happy to let you bring food in.

In addition to the great beer, their next best feature is that they are completely non-smoking.  None of this 'non-smoking until 8 pm' like Danny Z's is doing, but non-smoking all the time.  This is a huge deal for those of us who actually enjoy tasting our beer and don't enjoy smelling like an ashtray (or perhaps it is the fact that I also have asthma).
